Our Story

Short story on how Toledo Lavender
came to be

It all started with a dream to find the perfect piece of property to build a new home. Our previous home was in a heavily wooded area which was very dark, damp and we couldn't see much of the sky! We searched for property online, but just couldn't find anything remotely interesting, so we hit the roads. We drove through county roads in the areas we were interested in. In one area we were particularly enamored with, we noticed an old tattered real estate sign.

After investigating, we found out that the property was no longer on the market, but reached out to the owner who was still willing to sell! It was meant to be! This beautiful piece of property not only has a view of Mt. St. Helens (the top half, but we'll take it!!), but we have beautiful sunsets too!

As we started to build a home for our family, we wondered what to do with all of this land. We hadn't anticipated such a large piece of property! Amy's parents suggested "why not plant lavender?" Immediately it just made sense. We had all spent many years thoroughly enjoying the lavender festivals and farms in Sequim, and until that point we hadn't considered it becoming a part of our lives. When Amy shared the Lavender farming idea with Jaycee, to her surprise, he had been thinking about the same thing!
